OUR ACTIONS AND MAIN ACTIVITIES

At the centre, we operate from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.,

providing our beneficiaries with a range of therapeutic and stimulating activities aimed at

enhancing well-being, preserving abilities, and promoting dignity.

Our Therapeutic Activities:

● Reminiscence sessions – sharing life stories and memories through photos, music, and familiar objects.

● Indoor games – playing dominoes, board games, puzzles, and word searches to keep the mind active.

● Art therapy – painting, drawing, and simple crafts to encourage creativity and self-expression.

● Music activities – singing, dancing, and playing simple instruments for enjoyment and stimulation.

● Physical exercises – gentle stretching, chair exercises, and light movements to stay active and flexible.

● Mindfulness and relaxation – deep breathing, guided relaxation, and calm moments to reduce stress.

● Outings and walks – short trips and nature walks to enjoy fresh air and social interaction.

● Sensory play – simple activities that use touch, smell, and sight to create pleasant memories.

Our Community Awareness, Capacity Building, and Advocacy Initiatives

Each year, the month of September is dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. During this period, we organise educational talks and interactive sessions in social welfare and community centres to sensitise the public and promote better understanding of the condition. In addition, we conduct structured training courses at the MITD for caregivers, focusing on capacity building, practical caregiving skills, and emotional support. Media engagement also forms an essential part of our awareness efforts, helping to disseminate accurate information about the disease and encouraging community support for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their families.
