EVERYTHING ON ALZHEIMER AND DEMENTIA
About Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia
Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia are progressive conditions that affect memory, thinking, behaviour, and daily functioning. While ageing increases risk, dementia is not a normal part of ageing. Early awareness and supportive care can greatly improve quality of life for both individuals and their families.
Types of Dementia
Alzheimer’s Disease – the most common type, marked by gradual memory loss and
confusion.
Vascular Dementia – caused by reduced blood flow to the brain, often after strokes.
Lewy Body Dementia – associated with visual hallucinations, sleep changes, and
movement difficulties.
Frontotemporal Dementia – affects personality, behaviour, and language more than
memory in early stages
